No. 14 Tremper Can't Complete Comeback vs. No. 2 Arrowhead

KENOSHA, WI- No. 2 Arrowhead needed extra innings to defeat No. 14 Tremper 4-2 on Friday afternoon in Kenosha.

Arrowhead jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning when Mike Bauer came around to score on a wild pitch. The Warhawks added another run in the top of the third when Dominic Clementi, who singled to lead off the inning, came around to score on a single from Mike Bauer to give them a 2-0 lead. After the third Tremper starter Kyle Griffin settled in allowing just two hits over the next four frames.

Tremper got on the board in the bottom of the fourth on an RBI single from Keith Kutzler cutting the Arrowhead to 2-1.

Facing a 2-1 deficit in the bottom of the seventh Mitchell Buban lead off the inning with a single and came around to score on a fielders choice from Zach Fuhrer to tie it up at two and send the game to extras.

In the top of the eighth Arrowhead scored twice off Tremper reliever Austin Vazquez highlighted by an RBI single from Johnny Duranso to take a 4-2 lead. Tremper threatened in the bottom half of the inning getting two men on with two outs, but could not push a run across.

Arrowhead improves to 18-1 on the year and will take on Oshkosh North tomorrow in Oshkosh. Tremper drops to 16-6 on the season and returns to action next Tuesday at Kenosha Bradford.
