PBR Future Games: Wisconsin Game 1

Thursday at the Future Games started game play action and Wisconsin got their feet wet in the nightcap falling short to Team Indiana 6-5. 

Pitching dominated most of the game as a 2-1 Indiana lead held until the sixth. LHP Tommy Meyer (Wauwatosa East, 2021), RHP Tyler Peck (Oak Creek, 2021), LHP Jared Lessman (St. Croix Falls), RHP Logan Landers (Brookfield Academy, 2021) and LHP Blake Read (Muskego, 2021) all worked scoreless frames as Lessman and Landers both struck out a pair and Read worked a clean 1-2-3 frame. 

Brady Marget (Whitefish Bay, 2021) led the offense and scored the first run of the game for Wisconsin after an RBI single to left and followed that up with a huge at bat in the sixth. With Wisconsin trailing by a run, Marget ripped a clean single to center scoring two runs and giving Wisconsin a late one-run lead. 

Wisconsin gave the lead back in the seventh but battled in their last at bats to close the gap to one again with the tying run at third base. Trailing by three, C Kaden Kosobucki drilled a two RBI double to left center to bring Wisconsin within one. Kosobucki was left stranded at third leaving Wiscosin one run shy and a 6-5 loss. 

Offensively Liam Moreno (Sun Prairie, 2021) and Luke Nowak (Menomonee Falls, 2021) were finding the barrel in each of their three at bats, good for one hit a piece. Owen Washburn (Webster, 2021)also collected a hit to start the sixth inning rally.
