Power 25: Week 2 Update

With all teams now playing around the WIAA, we have our first rankings update of our Power 25. The top three schools hold their spots with No. 1 Janesville Craig, No. 2 Indian Trail, and No. 3 Eau Claire North staying undefeated. Let’s take out weekly look around the Power 25 with notes, new additions, and upcoming schedule.  

  • No. 1 Janesville Craig had a big matchup with Sun Prairie last Tuesday with Craig winning 9-8. Despite the loss Sun Prairie moves up in the rankings from No. 6 to No. 4.

  • No. 2 Indian Trail did not play last week with weather affecting their schedule, they sit at 1-0 and head down to Florida to play this week.

  • Kimberly dropped from the No. 4 spot down to No. 13 after a 2-3 start to the year. Kimberly is 1-1 in Wisconsin after going 1-2 in Chicago to start the year.

  • New additions to the rankings this week are No. 20 Oshkosh North (5-1), No. 21 Fond du Lac (5-1), No. 22 Hortonville (6-1), and No. 25 Waupun (9-1).

  • West De Pere (3-3), Bay Port (2-4), Freedom (3-2), and Stevens Point (0-1) dropped out of the rankings.

  • Columbus moved up to No. 17 from No. 24 after a 3-0 week, outscoring opponents 41-0.

The Week Ahead: Matchups

  • Monday: No. 13 Kimberly vs. No. 23 Appleton North

  • Tuesday: No. No. 12 Jefferson vs. No. 9 Beloit Turner

  • Thursday: No. 23 Appleton North vs. No. 22 Hortonville

  • Friday: No. 5 Oconomowoc vs. No. 4 Sun Prairie

  • Friday/Saturday: DeBoer Diamond Classic in Waupun is a loaded field with No. 9 Beloit Turner, No. 12 Jefferson, No. 14 Westosha Central, No. 18 Catholic Memorial, and No. 25 Waupun.
