Every Friday National Scouting Supervisor Nathan Rode provides a roundup of insider recruiting information and commitments throughout the PBR coverage area: The Buzz. CLICK HERE to take a look at this week’s National Buzz. With that in mind, let’s take an in depth look at the Illinois prospects who have committed to colleges, with detailed scouting information.

Jacob Lindemann, RHP, Burlington, 2017
Wichita State

Jacob Lindemann7/31/15 - Lindemann was one of the more high profile arms in Wisconsin heading into the Future Games and he did not disappoint. At 6-foot-3, 195-pounds he has a typical athletic pitchers frame with room to go. Lindemann’s delivery is all arm, which is scary to think once he gets his lower half going. It’s an upright delivery with a short stride for his size. His high front side creates some deception to his release point but it’s his natural arm speed that is attractive to recruiters. Lindemann was one of nine prospects at the Future Games to reach the 90 mph mark with his fastball, a rare feat for a prospect his age. He sat 86-88 mph in his first outing on Day 2 and then backed it up by touching 90 mph multiple times in his second outing on Day 3. He is most likely suited best for a slider but he showed a 74-75 mph curveball with obvious conviction and also flashed a knuckle ball.

Anthony Leedle, LHP, Clinton, 2016

Anthony Leedle9.20.15 - 6-foot-7, 230-pound, left-handed pitcher. Currently ranked No. 63 in the Wisconsin Class of 2016. On the mound works from a high ¾ arm angle with a long arm action. Drop and drive delivery with regular effort and a square landing. Showed the ability to repeat well despite long levers, threw quality strikes in game. Fastball flashed sink at 79-81 mph. Threw curveball for strikes at 71-73 mph. Changeup sat 75-77 mph. Worked one inning striking out two without allowing a hit.

Jack Nelson, OF, Stoughton, 2016
Aurora University

Jack Nelson9/20/15 - 6-foot-1, 160-pound left-handed hitting outfielder, slender build, body has some projection. Hits from a balanced setup, short leg lift trigger. Path works around the baseball, pull side type hitter, 82 mph exit velocity from the tee. 4.51 runner down the line, stole a couple bases in game play. Defensively arm action is short, high ¾ slot, average arm strength. Quick unpredictable footwork, played through the baseball some, could stay more online through the baseball.

Morgan Youngquist, 1B, Hamilton, 2016

Morgan Youngquist6/18/15 - Long lanky frame, projectable type body, 6-foot-4, 200-pound L/L first-baseman. Offensively hits from an open stance, stride dives to hit. 77 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively arm played at 76 mph across the diamond, over the top slot. Ran a 7.45 in the 60.

Kyle Scoville6/25/14 - Athletic build, 5-foot-10, 160-pound middle infielder, projectable frame. Offensively hits from a tall balanced stance, short stride approach.
