This Sunday, Mar. 5th the PBR Wisconsin team is hosting the South Milwaukee Preseason ID at Hitters Baseball Academy in Caledonia, Wis. This is an open event for all high school classes (2023-26), and gives our staff an ample look at the area's top players.

For a closer look at the showcase details and the technologies we'll have on-site to assist our in-person evaluation for all in attendance, click here. For a complete look at those registered to attend this event, view the most up-to-date version of the roster by clicking here.

EVENT HISTORY

We've been hosting this event for the past 10 years, and it's consistently provided us a look at prominent players who've later gone on to receive invitations to select events, like the PBR Future Games. Among the players in attendance at this event in 2022, there are already 28 commitments among them.

While this event is consistently one of the most talented event’s on our winter schedule year in and year out, last year's roster may have been one of the most talented in recent memory. In the 2023 class both SS Alexander Alicea (St. Thomas More, 2023; Louisville commit) OF JT Kelenic (Catholic Memorial, 2023; Grand Canyon commit), C/RHP TJ Schuyler (Antioch, 2023; Indiana commit) and RHP Thomas Burns (Hortonville, 2023; Arizona State commit) all put up some of the top performances of the day, and earned invites to the PBR Procase - Midwest later on in the year.

Last year, the 2024 class was well represented at this event, with INF JD Dix (Whitefish Bay, 2024; Alabama commit) leading the charge. All day long, Dix looked every bit the part of a high-end national prospect and later on in the year, he made a huge jump up our national rankings, and is currently slotted in at No. 8 in our national rankings. There were also multiple other names who earned invitations to the PBR Future Games because of their performances at this event, starting with OF Cade Palkowski (Oak Creek, 2024; North Carolina commit) who announced his commitment to the Tar Heels shortly after the Future Games. Other names like RHP Nolan Buss (Arrowhead, 2024; Kansas State commit), INF Brock Lulewicz (Muskego, 2024; Wichita State commit) and LHP Tannis Lange (Waukesha South, 2024; Ohio State commit) all earned invitations to our most prestigious event of the summer, and all of them made their commitment shortly after that.

We're looking forward to checking in on the next crop of talent from this event to earn next-level attention in the coming weeks, months, and years.

2022 ROSTER

This year's roster is already shaping up nicely, just like in years past.

INF/RHP Ethan Bauerschmidt (Kenosha Tremper, 2025) is certainly a name our staff is excited to get an updated look at on Sunday after hearing many positive comments about the advances he has made to his game. Standing at a thin and projectable 6-foot-2, 172-pounds, Bauerschmidt is an athletic name-to-know inside this 2025 class and he swings a smooth right handed bat, to go along with some major arm strength on the mound. While his metrics have impressed in recent looks, we are expecting his numbers to be much higher after his full offseason of gains.

SS/RHP Adam Urban (Wauwatosa West, 2025) is another athletic player that will be in attendance on Sunday and he too has seemed to make some big jumps, especially on the mound. Offensively, he swings a controlled left-handed bat that we have seen collect multiple barrels during live gameplay, too.

Adam Urban (3/6/22)

Three other ranked names in Wisconsin’s 2025 class, C Brad Filippis (Indian Trail, 2025), RHP Abe Herchenbach (Elkhorn, 2025), and RHP/OF Jacob Haughton (Racine Case, 2025) are all set to showcase their skills on Sunday. Fillipis impressed our staff across multiple looks this summer with his advanced feel for the catching position and he pairs it with a strong arm that has reportedly gotten even stronger throughout the offseason. Herchenbach is a projectable 6-foot, 160-pound right hander that has been up to the mid-80s in our previous looks and he shows a real feel to pitch, too. As for Haughton, he will be making his PBR showcase debut but over the summer he did impress our staff on both sides of the ball and we are excited to see him in a showcase setting.

MIF Luke Schlosser (Oconomowoc, 2025) is a quick twitch athlete who showed well in front of our staff this past fall and he is going to make an appearance at Sunday’s event. Listed at 5-foot-11, 150-pounds, there is still plenty of room for Schlosser to put on some mass and he swings a rhythmic left-handed bat that produces sprayed line drives to all fields. Defensively though is where Schlosser really shines with his well above-average actions with quick feet, and he pairs it with a strong arm that has been up to 86 mph across the diamond previously.

Despite being from Illinois, MIF Ethan Moore (Oak Park-River Forest, 2025; Louisville commit) is becoming a staple at this event. Currently ranked No. 4 in Illinois’ 2025 rankings and No. 277 nationally, Moore was a big winner from this event last year, despite being a part of the youngest age group in attendance. He registered a max exit velocity of 93.2 mph, average 85.8 mph, threw 84 mph across the diamond, and ran a 7.07 in the 60-yard dash, which speaks to the well above-average overall tools that Moore possesses. After a full offseason of training, it wouldn’t be surprising to see these numbers even higher during Sunday’s event.

The current freshman class in Wisconsin is certainly a talented one and on Sunday we will get a chance to see a number of prospects who make up that class. Starting with 1B Dominic Santarelli (Kenosha St. Joseph, 2026; Louisville commit) who just flat-out dominated across the summer circuit last year. At The Rock for the summer championships, Sanatrelli was arguably the top hitter of the weekend and helped his Hitters squad take home a trophy as a result. Then Santarelli made the trip down to LakePoint to represent Team Wisconsin at the PBR Junior Future Games where he continued to just hit and hit for power. Shortly following the Junior Future Games, he announced his commitment to Louisville and we are excited to get an updated look at him after this full offseason of gains.

RHP/3B Caleb Johns (New Berlin Eisenhower, 2026) is another name who earned himself a spot in our initial 2026 rankings after putting together a very successful summer circuit. Johns is listed at a projectable 6-foot-1, 170-pounds and he too represented Team Wisconsin at the PBR Junior Future Games where he showcased his two-way talents all weekend long.

Caleb Johns (7/26/22)

Twins, OF/LHP Ezra Liggon (Madison West, 2026) and SS/RHP Caleb Liggon (Madison West, 2026) are also set to attend Sunday’s event and they both bring some major upside on both sides of the ball. Ezra is listed at a projectable 6-foot-4, 170-pounds and at The Rock this summer he swung a smooth left-handed bat that resulted in a plethora of barrels across the weekend. Caleb is similarly built at 6-foot-4, 165-pounds and he too swings a smooth bat, but from the right-side. Both are also clean movers on the mound as well.

MIF Jake Cummins (Milton, 2026) and OF/RHP Cade Minatto (Indian Trail, 2026) are two other names that made the trek down to Georgia to represent Team Wisconsin at the PBR Junior Future Games. Despite being just a freshman, Cummins’ defensive abilities are well above his years, and at LakePoint he made even the hard plays look easy. Inside his athletic 5-foot-9, 150-pound frame he swings a confident right-handed bat that is able to spray line drives to the entire field. Minatto impressed on both sides of the ball for Team Wisconsin this summer, highlighted by a clutch two-RBI triple late in Game Two of the weekend. He also got onto the mound for Team Wisconsin, and ran his fastball up to 81 mph but in his lanky 6-foot, 155-pound frame, their is still a ton of upside.

Perusing the event roster, we’re set to meet a majority of players who’ve not yet attended a PBR showcase, and we’re eager to add more names to our follow lists.
