Stock Report: 2014 MIF Turner DeMuth

By Steve Nielsen
Scouting Director - Wisconsin

Today’s stock report is on 2014 graduate Turner DeMuth. DeMuth is a left handed hitting infielder from Whitefish Bay HS. Last season, as a sophomore, DeMuth hit .304 for the Blue Dukes and drove in 13 RBI with 2 triples. He also went 13 for 13 in stolen bases.

DeMuth is a well built, physical athlete. Standing 5-foot-11, 185 pounds, DeMuth shows strong hands and above average bat speed at the plate. He hits from a slightly open stance where he uses his lower half well to create bat speed and whip through the zone. DeMuth flashes some signs of pop but will need to stay through the ball longer to see consistent results. His physicality leads us to believe he will show more and more consisted power down the road.

Defensively, DeMuth shows athleticism in his actions. He is mechanically sound when fielding the baseball and shows accuracy across the diamond.

DeMuth is an interesting physical prospect who has some athletic tools that should play well at the next level.
