Marshall Gilbert is a Class of 2015 catcher that looks to be advanced beyond his years. Gilbert is a product of Westosha Central HS. He has a well-built frame standing 6-foot, 175-pounds his solid body stands out amongst others his age. Behind the dish Gilbert has a good arm; it plays well and stays on line to its target, as well as being strong his arm also shows accuracy. Gilbert’s pop time ranges from 2.02-2.15, his actions behind the plate are direct and efficient to second base, mechanically he is very sound. He shows to be a solid receiver with soft hands. At the plate Gilbert shows strong hands possessing some good bat speed. Gilbert really works to try to get through the baseball; he uses a level bat path creating consistent solid contact.

Marshall should project as a top level catcher in his class. With a physical frame and sound mechanics he should progress nicely as he gains experience over the next few years.
