Stock report: 2014 C Aaron Mack

Steve Nielsen
Scouting Director - Wisconsin

Today’s stock report is on the projectable frame of Aaron Mack. Mack is a left-handed hitting catcher from Edgewood HS in Madison. In 2012 he received All-Conference honorable mention as a sophomore.

Mack is a 6-foot-2, 190-pound left-handed hitting catcher who displays an impressive game. His frame is advanced and projectable with a lot of room for additional strength. Behind the plate, Mack shows a solid setup receiving the ball well. He shows pop times between 2.07-2.15 with a 72 mph arm from the crouch.

Mack shows above average bat speed from the left side with a balanced approach. His swing showed consistency to the opposite field gap with occasional pull power. He showed a high rate of repeatability in his swing, making consistent contact with the baseball.

Mack will be one of the more highly sought after catchers in the Class of 2014 with his long lean frame that projects well. He should be garnering plenty of attention as one of the top players in the Class of 2014.
