Scouts that ventured to Wisconsin to see eventual first-round pick Gavin Lux, probably got a sneak peek at Hoerter, a 6-foot-6, 185-pounder with a long, lean, athletic and projectable frame. Overall, he has excellent athleticism for his size. His arm is athletic, quick and clean from a high-3/4 slot and he works with minimal effort. His delivery has tempo and rhythm and he lands slightly closed. His fastball sits at 86-88 mph with downhill plane. His curveball is in the low 70s. He shows feel for the pitch, as it has good shape and late bite at times. It could develop into a swing-and-miss offering.
