GAME TWO: TEAM WISCONSIN VS. TEAM NEW JERSEY
After a dominant win on Wednesday, the Team Wisconsin squad dropped a tough one to Team New Jersey with a 9-4 loss on Thursday. Despite the losing effort, Team Wisconsin continued to battle across five innings of play.
In the first, OF/LHP Prescott Sanford (Franklin, 2027), pulled a single to right field and would eventually come around to score by way of walks and groundouts.

SS Jonny Deets (La Crosse Aquinas, 2027) picked up where he left off from Wednesday’s game as he roped a ball into right field that scored OF Mason Robertson (Martin Luther, 2027) in the fourth inning. Robertson, a quick runner and twitchy athlete, was able to snag second base just pitches before Deets’ single.

In the fourth, C/OF Jack Spielmann (Milton, 2027) continued to tack on runs for Team Wisconsin as his pop fly to center field landed, scoring two runs. Similar to his workouts, Spielmann continues to show impressive bat-to-ball skills and will look to continue his play across the rest of the week.
In the fifth, the aforementioned Sanford was put on the mound to limit damage and did just that. Sanford was able to get out of the inning without allowing a hit or a run. Sanford’s arsenal contains a fastball, a slider, and a changeup, all of which play with life and are used as compliments to each other.
Despite the loss, OF/SS Chace Staude (Kettle Moraine, 2027) ended the day with an RBI that was pushed across via a timely groundout.
Ultimately, Team Wisconsin was unable to respond after allowing six runs in the bottom of the second, but showed well and will look to bounce back the following day.
Next up for Team Wisconsin is a matchup with Team Massachusetts at 2:45 PM ET on Friday at the LakePoint Sports Complex on Field 13.
