New additions to the Class of 2013 rankings

Steve Nielsen
Scouting Director - Wisconsin

The 2013 rankings in Wisconsin have been expanded to 30 as we’ve added five more players to the mix.

Moving into the No. 21 slot is Cole Hernikl (Menomonee Falls HS) who we’ve seen improving his stock with his blazing speed and solid bat control. This top of the lineup middle infielder should make a nice impact at the next level.

Rounding out the top 30 is catcher AJ Kaprelian (Racine St. Catherine’s) who is an excellent catch and throw guy committed to Wisconsin Parkside. Kaprelian showcases a strong arm along with some pop in his bat from the right side.

Jacob Perez is a lean, athletically built outfielder with a high ceiling from West Bend East HS. He shows traditional outfield action playing through the ball well with a crow hop and throwing with a long over the top arm action. Perez has committed to Wayne State and will be one to keep an eye on as his 6-foot-3, 180-pound frame has a lot of upside.

Hayden Fenner (Ripon HS) is a left handed hitting catcher with a smooth short swing. He proves to be a solid receiver as well displaying soft hands and a clean transfer behind the plate.

Cal Jacklin is a switch hitting shortstop from Kettle Moraine HS who shows the ability to square the baseball up with consistency. He shows solid hands in the infield with mechanically sound footwork playing through the baseball.

As we get closer to the start of the spring season and with a number of Prep Baseball Report events on the horizon it’s only a matter of time before more prospects get into the mix in the state of Wisconsin.
