Top Prospect - Milwaukee: Preview

Diego Solares
Staff Writer, Associate Scout

On Tuesday, July 13, the PBR Wisconsin and Illinois staffs will collaborate to host our annual Top Prospect- Milwaukee event at The Rock Sports Complex in Franklin, WI. This invite-only event is set to host some of the top uncommitted 2022s between the two states with multiple college coaches scheduled to attend. The prospects in attendance will go through a pro-style workout followed by simulated gameplay.

LAST YEAR'S ROSTER

Last year’s showcase was fairly successful from a recruiting standpoint, as 71 prospects that attended have already committed to play college ball. OF Cole Luckey (Glenbrook South, 2021; Bradley), LHP Jackson Kent (Lake Park, 2021; Wisconsin-Milwaukee), C Trett Joles (Boyceville, 2021; Indiana State), RHP Jacob Kisting (Verona, 2021; Bradley), and RHP Thomas Ellisen (Kimberly, 2021; Connecticut) were amongst the few names that attended from an extremely talented roster.

SET TO ATTEND…

The Badger State will be well represented on Tuesday with a numerous amount of high- end uncommitted incoming seniors on the roster. INF Camdin Jansen (Racine Lutheran, 2022) represented Team Wisconsin at last year’s PBR Future Games and has steadily trended upward over the last calendar year as he’s added strength onto an athletic, well-proportioned frame. That muscle has translated into louder impact off the barrel and enhanced his all-around offensive profile. Jansen’s sure-handed actions will keep him on the dirt in the long run, too.

RHP Carson Klaus (Adams Friendship, 2022) popped on our radar after a strong showing at March’s Madison Preseason I.D. and carried that momentum into the spring, enjoying a strong season with the Green Devils. We’re pretty familiar with him on the mound, as the live armed right-hander was up to 88 mph in his ‘pen and spun his breaking ball at a 2,700 RPM average, too. Still uncommitted, we’re eager to get an up-to-date look at Klaus this summer.

OF Carson Hansen (Pewaukee, 2022) and INF Kolton Schaller (Mount Horeb, 2022) are two more arrow-up names scheduled to attend. Hansen is a physical 6-foot-3, 205-pound left-handed hitter with a loud barrel that’s capable of making an impact in the middle of a lineup at the next level. A former PBR Future Gamer, Schaller raked all spring for the Vikings and his smooth left-handed stroke also profiles at the top of an order long-term.

RHP Christopher Bieniek (Notre Dame College Prep, 2022) and 1B/RHP Ryan Ball (Lincoln-Way East, 2022) are amongst the top prospects set to attend from Illinois. Bienek is a proportionally strong 6-foot-2, 200-pound athlete that spins his fastball at a 2,400 RPM average and has been up to 89 mph in the past. Ball boasts an equally physical 6-foot-3, 215-pound with a lively 85-87 mph fastball and easy juice inside his right-handed stroke.

CHECK-IN PROCESS

In an effort to continue and develop a simplified, contactless check-in process, upon arrival, players will scan a QR Code with their smart phone camera that will lead them to a Google Form. On that Form, players will enter their name (matching the spelling on their PBR profile) and hit submit. Upon submission, players will be prompted to click a link that will direct them to their jersey color and number, located next to their registered name. From there, players will be instructed to the area where they’ll pick up their designated jersey color and number.
