By Andy Sroka

The Top Prospect - Milwaukee event has highlighted the state’s best talent, providing them a platform to perform in front of dozens of collegiate scouts. This year, over 90 prospects will be visiting The Rock Sports Complex in Franklin, Wis., on Tuesday, July 24, where they’ll participate in in a pro-style workout in the morning before they’re divvied up into six separate teams in the afternoon.

As always, this event features some of the top talent from the Wisconsin and Illinois classes of 2019.

Looking back at last year’s roster, 68 of the prospects who attended the 2017 event are currently committed to play at the next level. With the amount of talent expected at the invite-only showcase on Tuesday, nearly all of whom are presently uncommitted, it’ll be interesting to follow their paths in their final prep summers of their careers.

Among the most highly ranked prospects from Wisconsin headed to The Rock is INF Marcus Cline (Fall Creek). Cline most recently spotlighted on the latest 2019 state rankings update where he saw his stock rise sharply and has since become a top-30-ranked prospect within his state’s class.

Marcus Cline (3.11.18)

Joining Cline at Top Prospect is another top-30-ranked player in his state’s class, RHP Trent Turzenski (Burlington). The 6-foot-6 righty also saw his ranking improve in the latest update as he further grasps a handle on his mid-80s fastball and complementary changeup, to go along with a breaking ball he’s gaining feel for. He’s an arm to watch on Tuesday, certainly.

Trent Turzenski (2.25.18)

Cline and Turzenski aren’t the only names to circle on the roster, either. Joining those three on the list to follow are: LHP Adrian Montilva (Madison East, WI), LHP Jace Kressin (Menomonie, WI), C Ben Harris (Prairie Ridge, IL), C Jack Fentress (Eau Claire Memorial, WI), and 3B Fletcher Dallas (Valders, WI), among many others.
