We’ve been anxiously awaiting the release of the new 2014 overall rankings and they are now here. TheJeren Kendall top of the list saw little change as Vanderbilt commit, Jeren Kendall (Holmen) held on to his No.2 spot in the Midwest. The major question on Kendall was going to be how he faired against legitimate competition as he doesn’t get to see much high level pitching in Wisconsin. He has clearly answered that question this summer showing his plus tools can play in game situations. His high level of baseball IQ on the base paths has been clearly evident this summer as well.

Zack HendersonThe biggest riser in the overall ranks from Wisconsin has been Zack Henderson (Greendale). Henderson has been blowing up as of late showcasing his powerful bat. Henderson has legitimate two way tools at the next level, recently committing to Missouri with the intentions of contributing both on the mound and with the bat. Henderson climbed 64 spots cracking the top 30 in the Midwest. His bat made a big impact at the Metropolitan Baseball Classic on the first day of batting practice, showing that there is plus potential power in his bat.

Scott Schreiber (Kimberly) also has moved up the ranks, jumping 35 spots into the top 40. The Gatorade Player of the Year in Wisconsin, he has similar tools to that of Henderson, a powerful right handed bat with a strong arm on the mound. Schreiber has shown an advanced change up this summer on the mound while still flashing pull side pop with his bat. Currently the top ranked uncommitted prospect in the PBR coverage area, Schreiber is currently courting several Division 1 schools while in the midst of his high school football season.

The rest of Wisconsin’s 2014 class remained fairly status quo as the top 12 Wisconsin ranks made it into the overall 300.
