Prep Baseball Report

Unsigned Seniors showing well over the weekend

Steve Nielsen
Scouting Director - Wisconsin

Yesterday, Prep Baseball Report held its Unsigned Senior Showcase for all unsigned 2013 graduates. The event went well and was highlighted by strong pitching performances from many of the participants. With over 90 players in attendance and more than 30 colleges, there were plenty of players who most certainly got noticed yesterday.

Two Wisconsin high school athletes were in attendance and put together a good showing. Cole Hernikl a middle infielder from Menomonee Falls put together another solid performance, highlighted by his advanced foot speed. Tyler Long, a two-way player from Solon Springs HS, also showed well as a strong bodied athlete with a low 80’s fastball and solid exit speeds off the tee.

A few other unsigned seniors who showed well this weekend at the Hitters Top Prospects camp in Racine were Tyler Thomka from Muskego HS who showed solid actions from the outfield. Connor Shipman, a corner infielder from Brookfield Central HS showed well offensively, while Nicholas Heniff (RHP, Wilmot HS) and Colin Dresen (LHP, St. Catherine’s) looked to be solid prospects on the mound.

Keep checking in daily for more news on these events and more. All stats, scouting reports, and rankings from the Unsigned Senior Showcase will be posted this week to the Illinois home page.
