WEEK 9 DIAMOND NOTES

Wyatt Blaskowski RHP / 1B / Amherst, WI / 2023

In one of Amherst’s most competitive games of the year, Blaskowski willed them to a win over Power 25 member Mosinee. Blaskowski twirled a complete game gem as he scattered just three hits, and gave up just one earned run to quite a talented Mosinee lineup. With this win, Blaskowski kept Amherst undefeated going into the WIAA playoffs.

Caden Capomaccio RHP / Notre Dame Academy, WI / 2022

A few weeks back, Capomaccio earned POTW honors with an absolutely stellar week. Last week he continued his solid play with great performances on both sides of the ball. At the plate, he tallied five hits, one of which was a grand slam, and also stole five bases. Capomaccio was also the starting pitcher NDA in their opening round of playoffs and in his start he twirled a gem across his five innings of work as he struck out nine to earn the win.

Tyler Deleskiewicz RHP / OF / Lake Geneva Badger, WI / 2022

Deleskiewicz has been featured in our Diamond Notes for multiple weeks in a row and last week he did it once again. We have seen Deleskiewicz’s talents on the mound many times but last week his high offensive output is why he is featured on this week's Diamond Notes. At the plate, Deleskiewicz tallied four hits which included two singles, one double, and one homerun to finish the week with five RBIs.

Carson Flugaur SS / RHP / Franklin, WI / 2022

Flugaur has been a key piece for Franklin throughout the season, and he kept it up last week. In his 13 at-bats, Flugaur tallied six hits to finish with five RBIs. He also added in four runs scored and four stolen bases to help Franklin to a series sweep over Racine Case.

Evan Iwinski SS / RHP / Franklin, WI / 2022

Last Thursday, Iwinski was flat out dominant for Franklin in their win over conference foe Racine Case. On the mound he twirled a no-hit gem across his 6 ⅔ innings and also tallied nine strikeouts. Iwinski also strung together a solid week offensively as he recorded five hits and also stole two bases as well.

Erik Jaschinski RHP / OF / Verona Area, WI / 2022

Jaschinski was a key part of Verona’s upset win over Arrowhead. In the first game of the double-header sweep, Jaschinski twirled a one hit gem in the 4-0 win. Throughout his complete game efforts, he struck out eight and allowed just three walks. This isn’t the first stellar outing he has had this year either as he has only allowed one earned run in his 26 innings this season.

Conner Robertson RHP / 3B / Dominican, WI / 2022

In his one start of the week, Robertson was absolutely dominant for Dominican. This start was an important one as it was the first game of Dominican’s playoff push. Robertson stayed in for all eight innings of this extra inning thriller and he did not allow a hit throughout while punching out 14. Dominican needed all of this as the offense would only muster one run which came in walk off fashion.

+ Eli Hahn (Wisconsin Rapids-Lincoln; 2022) In one of the most dominant weeks we have seen Eli Hahn was dominant to say the least for Wisconsin Rapids-Lincoln High School. In the first game of the week Hahn, twirled a no-hit gem in Wisconsin Rapids-Lincoln High School’s contest with Antigo. He then backed this performance up with yet another no-hit gem, leaving him with two no-hitters on the week.
