Wisconsin's top 2016s rank highly in updated Overall Rankings

The updated overall 2016 rankings were released a little over a week ago and Wisconsin made a huge splash this time around.

The Badger State got seventeen of its top prospects in the overall rankings, second only to Illinois in our coverage area.Gavin Lux

Virginia Tech commit Gavin Lux (Indian Trail) jumped 12 spots to crack the top 10 overall prospects in the region. Catcher Ben Rortvedt (Verona) made one of the biggest jumps in the overall rankings moving more than 25 spots to No. 16 overall.

LHP Jack Eagan moved into the top 20 moving up 24 spots after his stellar performaJack Eagannce at the Madison Preseason ID where his fastball sat 86-88 mph.

Wisconsin has five prospects in the top 25 which ties for the most across our 1Ben Rortvedt0 states covered in the 2016 rankings.

Previously unranked in the overall rankings, Wisconsin’s Matt Hamilton (Oak Creek), Jordan Krueger (Mukwonago), Keaton Knueppel (Verona), Matt DeYoung (Xavier), Tyler Becker (Menomonee Falls), Ryan Selner (Milwaukee Lutheran) and Jack Kinzer (Port Washington) all made the overall rankings for the first time.
