X-FACTOR
LHP Aaron Ploszay (Holmen, 2025, Madison JC) slides in atop this rotation for a second straight year. One of the top left-handers in the state, Ploszay really performs when he toes the rubber.
Tossing over 38 innings with 68 strikeouts for them last year pitching to a 4-1 record and a 1.83 ERA. On the mound, Ploszay delivers the baseball with funk, giving opposing hitters a tough look throughout, three pitches all out of the same window with a fastball that has reached 88 mph in the past with a two-plane breaking ball and a developing CH to pair.
Heading into his final year as a prep, Ploszay has a chance to build off on his standout junior season.
TEAM OUTLOOK
“Holmen has pitching depth and quality which should push us to the top of the conference. There are many returners who were main contributors last season.” – Mark Wall, head coach
The depth on the mound is notable, beyond Ploszay, RHP Paul Goryl (2025, Wisconsin-Eau Claire) has been one of the top performers in the state, in over 39 innings last spring Goryl pitched to a 4-1 record with a 1.06 ERA while limiting walks and filling the zone with three pitches.
Beyond the starters at the top, the Vikings return the majority of their innings from last spring. Notable for a team that had a 2.67 ERA as a team, giving them a number of options to give the ball two in any situation.
Returning and filling out the rest of the staff RHP/OF Joseph Meeter (2026), RHP Tyler Rosenow (2025), RHP Jude Anderson (2025, Minnesota West CC) and RHP Noah Oswald (2025).
The lineup features the previously mentioned Meeter, that gives the Vikings a proven middle-of-the-order bat after hitting .400 as a sophomore and has seemingly “leveled up” this offseason.
The lineup returns a lot of experienced seniors that have played a number of seasons on varsity, including the aforementioned Anderson and Rosenow who hit near .300 while bringing back some run production beyond Meeter.
Other bats that will be relied on to step up as seniors are C Braeden Linse (2025) and SS Brennan Metzler (2025).
Rounding off the lineup and could prove capable depth INF Brayden Wall (2025), OF Kekoa Rodgers (2025), and the aforementioned Oswald, Ploszay and Goryl.
BOTTOM LINE
A senior heavy squad with a collection of talented performers returning to the mound. The Vikings will once again be in the mix for the top spot in the Mississippi Valley conference with a chance to make a deep playoff push.
