Top 10 Stories of 2024: No. 9 Wisconsin Preps Shine at the Senior Future Games

At the end of each calendar year, the Prep Baseball Wisconsin staff reflects back on the 10 most intriguing headlines that surrounded the baseball scene in the Badger State. Through the end of the month, we will break down the most impactful storylines from an eventful 2024 campaign, ending with our No. 1 story revealed Dec. 31.
This past summer, Prep Baseball hosted the inaugural Senior Future Games, a 17U division made up of the best uncommitted Class of 2025 talent in the country. Team Upper Midwest combines the top talent from Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska and Wisconsin into a single roster.
Wisconsin was well represented throughout the roster and many have found homes at the next level.
Infielders Jack Lutz (Whitnall, 2025; South Florida commit), Dean Staudacher (Muskego, 2025; Wabash Valley commit), and Jack Zeller (Indian Trail, 2025) all found success down at LakePoint, each doing it in different ways.
Lutz is a wiry athletic shortstop that flashed high-end ability on both sides of the ball. A true shortstop with bat-to-ball ability that finds the barrel at a high rate.

Staudacher is a strong and versatile defender with an easy swing with feel to drive the ball in the air. Clear arm strength, up to 97 mph from across the diamond adds to the profile defensively.

Zeller is an athletic left-handed hitting infielder that can play multiple positions across the diamond. At the plate, Zeller has clear feel for the barrel showing advanced bat-to-ball ability against high-end competition.

Also making their way down to LakePoint where a group of intriguing arms from the Badger State. The performance of this group ultimately led to a number of them raising their prospect status individually. While also separating the position as a point of strength in the class which was further expanded on inside Wisconsin 2025 Rankings: RHP Prospects Highlight This Class.
Each prospect can be found near the top of the fastball velocity leaderboard with RHP Cameron St. John (Appleton West, 2025; Campbell commit) leading the event topping out at 94.5 mph with intriguing underlying metrics.

RHP Auden Pankonin (River Falls, 2025; Nebraska commit) showed an advanced two-pitch mix down at LakePoint. Paired with a loose and athletic delivery the right-hander ended up committing to Nebraska shortly after the event.
Right-handers Jack Roventini (Arrowhead, 2025; Chandler-Gilbert commit) and Dylan Campeau (Greendale, 2025; Florida SouthWestern commit) came away as winners following the event, each seeing significant rises in the rankings. Breaking out as some of the top right-handed pitchers in the state.
