2015 Team Preview: Philip Barbour Colts

As we prepare for the upcoming 2015 high school season, we will be taking a preseason glimpse at programs from around the state.

2014 Overall Record: 11-16 (lost in regional semifinals)

SEASON OUTLOOK:
The Colts look to move beyond success in their section and contend for a region title in 2015. To take the next step Philip Barbour will likely have to get by Bridgeport, the defending Class 2A state champs. The Colts return a solid core of their lineup from last year with an even blend of seniors and underclassmen that should give them a legitimate shot at making it three section titles in as many years.

According to the Coach:
"We are coming off back to back sectional championships. We should have strong pitching and timely hitting and should contend for another sectional crown this season. We will have to fill a few holes from last season following the graduation of Al Johnson, Saige Cline, and Jacob Marsh. The pitching staff looks to be strong with seniors Tyler Baldwin, Cody Everson, Dylan Harris as well as junior Sean Curtis."
