Connor Nurse moved to No. 1 in the WV Class of 2017 rankings in August following a busy summer where the 6-foot-5, 190-pound junior showed significant velocity gains. The physical righty sits 85-87 with above average tilt to his fastball from a high 3/4 arm slot. Nurse, a Liberty University commit, touched 90 at several stops during an aggressive summer schedule playing with the Richmond Braves.

Nurse has also made a significant jump in Prep Baseball Report's updated overall rankings released yesterday. The PBR overall rankings only include the states that we intimately know from our scouting staff. The updated Top 300 Class of 2017 rankings is comprised of our current 27-state coverage area, which now includes all New England states. Nurse jumped 39 spots in this update from his previous ranking of No. 90 to his current spot at No. 51.
