Zach Minnick carried the big stick and silenced the St. Albans' bats for 3.2 innings in relief to lead Logan to a 4-2 win over St. Albans and the 3A Region 4 Section 2 championship. Logan will begin regional play at Winfield on Monday.

Logan took the lead in the 1st inning when Phoenix Shrewsbury doubled and later scored on a sacrifice fly by Dustin Turley. Minnick's two-run home run in the 3rd inning gave Logan a 2-1 lead, one they never relinquished.

Minnick came on in 4th inning to put out a potential St. Albans' rally and ended up working 3.2 innings of hitless relief to pick up the win. 

Minnick's home run was his only official at bat of the game. St. Albans chose to intentionally walk the talented sophomore in the 1st, 4th and 6th innings.
