The Hotlist: Uncommitted 2017 Catchers

By Nathan Rode and PBR Staff

Last week, we began looking at the top uncommitted juniors by highlighting pitchers still available on the recruiting market. Continuing with that theme, this week’s Hotlist looks at the top catchers still available, who are listed alphabetically below.

Kyle Antos, C, Indian Trail HS, WI
Antos, who has a strong, compact frame at 5-foot-11, 200 pounds, showed well at the Prep Baseball Report Future Games this summer. He runs a 7.53-second 60 and consistently got the barrel on balls, despite not recording a hit in games. He hits from a balanced set-up with a short leg lift stride. Behind the plate, he has a short arm action from an over-the-top slit. His footwork is quick, as is his release, and his arm is strong and accurate. His pop times range from 1.94-2.08 and he throws 76 mph from the crouch. He also showed toughness behind the plate, taking a ball off the neck in a game.
