WV Top Prospect Games: Previewing the Pitchers

As we approach the 2015 WV Top Prospect Games we will take a look at players by position highlighting some of the top prospects on the roster. Today we begin our preview by taking a look at the 27 pitchers scheduled to toe the rubber. This number will still grow by one as their is still one roster spot to be filled by a pitcher.

A total of seven West Virginia pitchers that are currently in the Class of 2016 rankings will take to the mound over the course of the two day event on August 8 and 9. Bradley Davis, Jacob Bolander, Zac McNeel and Logan Smith currently sit at No. 9 through No. 12 in the rankings and are among the top uncommitted seniors in the state. Brandon Chandler (No. 26), Jared Cleghorn (No. 30) and Hunter Haddix (No. 33) round out the group of ranked arms that should draw significant interest from the schools in attendance.

A pair of Class of 2017 pitchers should represent Ohio well. Dylan Appolloni (No. 38) in the Ohio Class of 2017 rankings and Sam Wilson will make the trip from the Columbus area to throw on the first day of the event. 

Pennsylvania will also be well represented on the hill. A total of seven pitchers that impressed at the recent Western PA College Prospect Showcase will make the trip south. Among those making the trip from the north, 2017 righty Cory Storm (84-86) and 2016 righty Scott Hughes (82-84) should turn some heads.
