Region 4 Class AAA Preview: Ripley at Hurricane

In what has already been a very competitive series in AAA Region 4 Hurricane and Ripley will square off in a winner take all game three with a trip to the state tournament on the line.

Liam BaileyPBR Ranked Players: Garrett Gress (No. 9 in the WV Class of 2017); Liam Bailey (right, No. 7 in the WV Class of 2018); Noah Short (No. 8 in the WV Class of 2018); Chandler Kelly (No. 4 in the WV Class of 2018);  Aaron Perry (No. 1 in the WV Class of 2017, currently injured)

Offensive Leaders: Individual stats are not available. However, middle of the order run producers include Jacob Allen, Noah Birthisel, Austin Dearing and Short.  Nate Dunham and Evan Dearing are the top of the order table setters.

Pitching Leaders: Individual stats not available. The Redskins lost Kentucky recruit Aaron Perry to injury and have relied on Garrett Gress as their replacement ace.  Logan McClure, Liam Bailey and Tyler Cox have also been key contributors.

Record vs  Regional Qualifiers: 6-3

Comments: The winner of this game may very well be the favorite to take the AAA State Title. Pitching depth will be key.  Based on series rotations to date the matchup is likely to be Bailey for Hurricane and Mack for Ripley.
