Hendriks is an athletic middle infielder who made the move to the highly regarded, Okotoks Dawgs Baseball Academy, to commit to bettering himself on the diamond. He is a loose and easy type of player with a laid back nature. He swings a quick bat, and shows athletic moves around the infield. Good lateral quickness and footwork on groundballs, especially slow rollers. Arm strong could improve, but quick hands and feet make up for anything that he loses in that department. Once he fills out, could be a dynamic top of the order bad with above average defensive capabilities. He has recently re-classed to the 2022 grad class, from the 2021 bunch.
4/16/18 Cody Hendriks 2021 This grade nine from Coquitlam stands 6-feet 150-pounds passes the eye test for his age and is a true dual guy. His tall athletic frame allows him to move well on the infield and get to balls and although the arm strength isn't quite there yet he is still young and shows great instincts getting to balls and throwing on the run. During his bp session he showed a quiet compact stroke with the ability to hit gaps. As he grows and starts to add muscle to his frame you will see more power out of him. Hendriks also showed well during his bullpen session getting a good FB up to 80 mph, his 12/6 CB breaking a little early sitting 62-63 mph but expect this to tighten up as he gets stronger, and CH 60-63 mph but again expect this to improve as he grows and gets stronger. An interesting 2021 grad to keep an eye on as he shows the tools to play at a high level at almost any position.
