5/01/21

Continues to be a major force hitting in the middle of Chelsea’s lineup that is part of the reason why the Hornets have won 14 of their last 16 contests. Sturdy 6-0, 220-pound frame that possesses solid bat-to-ball skills as he rarely strikes out against quality arms on the mound. Went 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored in a pivotal Game 3 matchup hitting in the cleanup spot. Singled back up the middle on a breaking ball down in the zone in the 1st, and later showed maturity by driving a pitch the other way for a double in another at-bat. Physical bat that has posted exit velocities into the low-100’s (mph) at prior PBR events.

3/27/21

1B/3B Jackson Webster (2021, Birmingham Southern) has been a major run producer hitting in the middle of the order for the Hornets so far. We’ve seen tons of power present in the right-handed bat, and he continued to show the ability to drive the ball to the pull side this weekend. Webster belted a home run against a 90-mph fastball on Friday night, and found another barrel in the 9:00 game for the Hornets. At 6-0, 220 pounds, Webster has a quiet setup at the dish with a leg kick before contact. Stays on the back side well and uses strong hands to fire a quick bat through the zone. Upward bat path with plenty of physicality.

2/27/21

Had an impressive day at the plate as he continued to show what we have seen in the past. Hitting in the 3 hole for the Hornets, Webster accounted for 3 RBIs in their win over Oak Mountain. Physical presence in the box has a heavy pull side approach but seemed to be on time for fastballs while also having the ability to sit back on offs peed offerings. Obvious middle of the order hitter with tilt in the swing path and stays on the ball through contact. Small leg kick approach and has been up to 102 exit velocity (Trackman) at events in the past.

9/27/20

6-foot, 220-pound physical frame. During batting practice, the right-handed hitter displayed an exit velocity of 102 mph, showing his strength and power ability. Setup included balanced stance and a big leg kick. Has uphill swing plane, electric bat speed and good extension on his finish. He found multiple barrels with tons of loud contact. Pull side approach. Solid while in the infield, registered his best throw across the diamond at 81 mph; has consistent footwork. Showed decent accuracy to the bases. In the 60-yard dash, recorded a time of 7.39.
