4/29/22

Coming off a rough season as a third-year sophomore in 2021 (6.91 ERA in 14.1 IP), the 6-foot-1 right-hander entered the year unranked in our preseason Top 250. However, armed with a low-90s fastball and two effective breaking pitches, Noland has posted every weekend and produced (2.77 ERA with 18 BB, 77 SO in 68.1 IP). The hard curve ball is Noland's main breaker, but he can manipulate to change shape and the pitch can be difficult to distinguish from his slider. Both pitches live in the 83-87 mph range and spin on average around 2300 rpm. He also manipulates his fastball, throwing the four-seamer up in the zone with some cut, while keeping his two-seamer down with above average sink. The cutting four-seamer is a weapon against left handed hitters. Noland maintained his fastball velo in the 91-93 mph range throughout his eight-inning, 103-pitch start. Most impressive of all is Noland's consistency and repeated execution of his pitches.

2/04/18

Super 60: Arkansas recruit. 6-foot-3, 210-pound right-handed pitcher, athletic build with well-proportioned strength. Thoroughbred athlete, four-star quarterback, signed at Arkansas to play both football and baseball. Never seen him on the gridiron, but Noland certainly has a bright future on the mound. Noland threw a near spotless bullpen at the Super 60. Confident, calm mound demeanor, repeats his simple, low-effort side-step delivery, moves with rhythm and tempo, everything works athletically, easily and in-line. Compact arm swing with slight plunge in the back, comes out of a high-3/4 slot, quick and athletic out front. Consistent strike-pumper; controlled the zone with four pitches. Fastball sat 90-91, topping at 92, with late arm-side life; easy out of the hand while filling up the lower-half of the zone. According to FlightScope, registered the fifth-best fastball carry at the event of 8.18 (difference between fastball velocity and fastball zone speed). Changeup is an advanced offering. Throws it with fastball arm action, aggressive with it, 83-84 mph, with late arm-side action. Registered three of the top 10 lowest spin rates on his changeup (1,340, 1,456 and 1,458). Offers both a curveball (79-80 mph) and slider (82-83), both flashing similar 11/5 shape and around the zone. Throws all four pitches with similar arm action and out of the same window. Overall, starter-type stuff - and mentality - at the next level.

5.23.17 All-State Game
Noland is a 6-foot-2 180-pound right-hander with an athletic frame and build. He showed an advanced feel for the strike zone locating 4 pitches for strike. His fastball worked 86-89 mph with late life through the strike zone. He located a slider with 10/4 shape and a late break thrown 78-81 mph. His curveball was thrown 71-73 mph with 11.5 shape and early break. He flashed a changeup thrown 74-75 mph with arm side run, the two times he threw it. Noland pitches from an H ¾ arm slot, with quick arm speed, a short arm action, good balance and regular effort, with a simple tilt and topple delivery. He repeats his smooth rhyme, his shoulders stay level as he stays in line with home plate. He finishes upright and square to home plate. Overall Noland has a quick arm and an advanced feel to pitch with 4 pitches.

Noland is a 6-foot-2 185 right-hander with a large frame and an athletic build. He uses a simple delivery with consistent rhythm. He commands his fastball 86-88 mph flashing 90 mph. He compliments his fastball with a sharp 11/5 curveball with late break and solid depth. He has a feel for his change up but throws it on a limited basis. He pitches from H 3/4 arm slot with a quick arm, with a high elbow. Overall Noland is an advanced pitcher with a quick arm. He competes in the strike zone with a fastball 84-86 mph. His breaking ball has 11/5 shape and is thrown with near fastball arm speed. Mechanically he is sound with repeatable mechanics and rhythm. He pitches from an H ¾ arm slot with a quick loose arm. Noland is a good athlete with a big arm and advanced ability to throw strikes. Noland is already garnering attention from the elite of college baseball.
