Hunter Royal: OF/LHP, (2021) Rogers Heritage, AR. 5-foot-10, 180-pound solid frame. Fluid during batting practice, the left-handed hitter clocked an exit velocity of 91 mph. Started in a balanced athletic stance with a smooth controlled load, then used a short stride. Has above average bat speed, short simple swing plane and high finish. He produced loud contact and found multiple barrels. Gap to gap approach. Solid from the outfield, he displayed a position velocity of 86 mph; had consistent rhythmic footwork, a quick clean exchange, and soft sure hands. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were quick. Consistent accuracy to the bases, used a short arm action with a high ¾ slot. Fluid on the mound, showed a short arm action and a high ¾ arm angle with quick arm speed Drop-and-drive type pitcher who shows some effort. Has a strong balance point and in line shoulders. Lands square with a clean finish. Threw his fastball 81-83 mph; had a command in the zone that shows straight movement. Throws a 1/7 curveball (67-69) with up in the zone control and early action. Had a straight changeup (76-78) that showed fading action and low in the zone control.
