10/10/18 - 5-foot-9, 150-pound frame. Undersized left-handed pitcher with compact delivery and quick arm action. We’ve seen considerable better stuff from Bohnert throughout the summer and fall. On this look he was really racing down the mound, with the ball coming out of his glove very late and his arm racing to catch up. Fastball sat 82-83 mph with arm side run. Curveball was best secondary offering at 67-71 mph with depth. Cut off 73-74 mph changeup at times, but has previously shown as solid third offering.
6/27/18 - 5-foot-9, 150 pound frame. Bohnert isn't the most physical pitcher in the class, but he comfortably sat 84-87, touching 88 and showed the ability to fill up the strike zone with three pitches. Bohnert has previously looked more like a D2 or juco guy, but the huge velo jump may change that in a hurry. Does a great job creating and transferring energy up his body to ball release. Breaking ball was thrown at 70-71 mph mph with fastball arm speed and is used more as a get me over type pitch. Showed feel for his change up at 74-77 mph and featured it heavily in live game action, flashing real sink. Bohnert also worked out as a position player where he displayed a solid swing from the left side. Narrow, open stance, leg kick trigger, slight uphill swing path; 81 mph exit velocity. Defensively best profiles as a corner outfielder. Posted a 7.58 60-yard dash and an 84 mph outfield velocity. Bohnert’s future on the mound as an undersized, left handed, mid-to-upper 80’s strike thrower should be his ticket to the next level.
12/27/17 - 5-foot-8, 150-pound frame. Two-way prospect showed best on the mound where he worked 79-81, touching 82 with his fastball from a high ¾ arm slot. Utilized a compact delivery, raising his hands very high before they break. Showed a 62-63 mph curveball with 1-7 shape and 67-70 mph changeup that he tended to leave to the arm side. Offensively shows good rhythm in the box, using a leg-lift trigger and slight uphill bat path to make solid contact to CF and the pull side during his round of BP. Looks to lift the baseball; 82 mph exit velocity. Also threw accurately from the outfield with 84 mph velo.
