2020 DRAFT: Coming off a strong season as a sophomore (.339/.433/.574, 13 HR, 50 RBI), Hauver is best known for his bat. He has a professional approach and a good idea at the plate. He's able to drive the gaps and hit enough over the fence to warrant a 50-grade game power in pro ball, to go along with an average hit tool. Hauver is also a marginal defender with a fringe average arm and is best suited for left field after playing shortstop as a prep. At 6-foot, 205 pounds and hitting left, while throwing right, his body type, handedness and defensive profile are similar to 2019 first-rounder Michael Busch (North Carolina). Overall, Hauver profiles as an extra outfielder/platoon bat at the pro level and will likely be selected around the fourth round this summer.

2/15/20: Coming off a strong season as a sophomore (.339/.433/.574, 13 HR, 50 RBI), Hauver is best known for his bat. He has a professional approach and a good idea at the plate. Although he went just 2-for-14 over the weekend, he hit some balls hard that were run down in the outfield for outs. A key to the Sun Devils season will be another good year with the stick for Hauver, most importantly to provide protection for Torkelson in the lineup. Hauver is a marginal defender with a below average arm and is best suited for left field. Overall, he profiles as an extra outfielder/platoon bat at the pro level and will likely become a Day Two draft pick this June.

8/12/19: Reliable defender in the outfield whose best tool is his bat. Has a professional approach and a great idea at the plate. Disciplined hitter who takes pitches and works counts, but also knows when to be aggressive. Struggled vs LHPs in my limited looks in the Cape, but was similar in batting average last spring (.345 vs RHPs, .325 vs LHPs) for the Sun Devils while hitting for less power (.279 ISO vs RHPs, .143 ISO vs LHPs). Defensively, he’s headsy and sure-handed with a left fielder’s arm. He knows his capabilities, makes all the routine plays, hits the cutoff man and can be trusted in the outfield. Overall, Hauver profiles as an extra outfielder/platoon bat at the pro level. After a .250/.358/.401 slash line in the Cape with the bat, he is likely to improve upon his strong sophomore season (.337/.431/.572 with 13 HR) with the Sun Devils and become a Day Two draft pick next June.
