Ballance, 6-foot 170-pound catcher/outfielder has plenty of room to grow. The Yale Baseball Academy player showed a decent feel for receiving pitches in bullpens and was able to keep his throws around the bag. He was on the raw side compared to the rest in camp, but he showed a keenness about learning from other players and coaches. With the bat, he showed the ability to hit the ball on a line and used the whole field.
