A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball

Positional Profile: 3B Body: 6-0, 185-pounds. Strong body, still with frame that will fill out with muscle, wide back. Hit: RHH. Bent at knees in open stance, deep in box, creates early barrel tilt, quiet actions, minimal stride and small hand load yet still produces ample bat speed, two hand finish. Flat stroke, good barrel awareness, top hand plays aggressively, rolls outside stride foot in his finish, flat swing with ability to drive the ball; 80% GBs/LDs, 67% on plane. Power: 92 mph exit velocity in live BP via TrackMan. Max hand speed 21.4, max bat speed 70.1. Arm: RH. 3B - 77 mph. Arm stroke tailored to get off quick throws which works given the fair raw arm strength, repeatable, accurate. Defense: Light feet, hands work well enough, plays calm, has played a lot of SS and now transitions to mostly 3B, tools to play at least average D. Run: 7.31 runner in the 60.
Positional Profile: RHP Body: 6-0, 185-pounds. Strong body, still with a frame that will fill out with muscle, wide back. Delivery: Athletic delivery, high knee lift to strong gather position over rubber, in-line stride, creates leverage for extension, has rhythm and ability to repeat. Arm Action: RH. High-3/4 slot, quick arm, backside depth to mid-thigh, controls fairly compact arm stroke. FB: T80, 78-80 mph. Aggressive FB strikes, holds plane well, slight late movement wrinkle, felt quicker than the velo readings, sneaky. CB: 65-68 mph. Flashed big downer shape that can dive below bats, high spin w/feel around the zone, depth gives it swing and miss potential. CH: 71-72 mph. Similar release height as FB (exact same as CB), more movement than FB while shoving it down in the zone, quality third pitch.

Bay Area World Series 2020 (BAWS) - Uncommitted; Made lasting impression w/bat, which has shown up as an impact tool in multiple viewings. Physical w/plus bat speed and strong barrel awareness. Aggressive stroke w/bat control too. Defensively projects to 3B, where the bat/arm play.

6-0, 185 high waist, full frame with wider shoulders and some strength. Tall stance with high hands keeping bat North/South to start before small rock having hands work back before starting to turn the barrel. Hands showing quickness and staying connected to the full body turn; when barrel turn works upwards through zone there more jump off the bat and better ability to drive with lift to the gaps. Hands are soft out front and have a quick funnel to a strong, quick release arm; really liked his ability to get to the ball and get rid of it while still keeping the ball online with some life. Actions look like a 3rd baseman and if he can extend his range/quickness a bit could make a jump on the defensive side of the ball. Projectable build/tools.

PBR Central Valley Preseason ID - Long, medium frame with width in shoulders and hips; a projectable frame that can tighten and add strength as he matures. Average foot speed with the ability to get going once underway showing makeup speed (7.57 60-yd dash). Tall, slightly opened stance with high hands and high back elbow; toe tap with a quick transfer of weight into back hip before firing through the ball. Bat is quick working on a slightly uphill path driving the ball to the oppo gap and middle of the field; projectable swing with good rhythm and timing (83 exit velo). Showed good first step in the infield with range to both sides and ability to move through the ball in time; projectable skills with middle infield skills that could translate to 3B as well. Quick ¾ arm with the ability to put the ball on the bag; arm projects well with quickness and accuracy (74 mph).
