Pacific commit, has a large wide sturdy stature with athletic movements at 5-foot-11, 190-pounds. Stepped in and handled all his pitchers well and with confidence, which can be a challenge with pitchers at this level, especially not having caught them before.

60 yd: Took off low and was in control with his strong lower body. He showed explosion and power, running in a straight line with little movement of his head, posting a 6.8 60-yard time.

Catching: Keeping with his athletic movements, Sloan showed a wide base and a big target. Soft hands and quick feet made for an easy transition. Once his arm was up, his feet and shoulders dictated his direction. With 1.99-2.05 pop times, his arm strength and quickness shined.

Hitting: Stockily built, he stands in the box tall with a shoulder width apart stance. His hands are high with a savvy bat wiggle, and his hands immediately move into a position to get the barrel through the zone. From a flat bat to a straight up bat, he not only uses his body to drive baseballs but also his hands work to stay inside the ball and drive to all fields. With a small and simple stride back to the pitcher, he gets into his back side and is able to stay behind the ball to elevate pitches. He keeps the barrel through the zone for as long as possible, finishing high, pushing outfielders back. Quick hands and a strong lower body made his hitting session something to watch.

Summary: Started his ProCase with a sub 7.00 60-yard time and carried that momentum through the rest of the day. He’s not only a good receiver of pitches, but he hits for power with solid fundamentals behind the plate.

vs Elk Grove - Uncommitted; Stout burly build with strength; was DH in this game hitting out of the 2-spot, showed abundance of patience in first two ABs when he didn't swing at any of the 12 pitches he saw (3-2 BB and 3-2 K on slider), L6 in third AB, hands work inside the ball, keeps barrel behind the ball with body in position to drive middle of the field, has some aggressive attack angle that when on time can produce loft power. Hands work through contact and separate well from body.

2/06/21

Body: 5-11, 190-pounds. Wider shoulders, showing good strength currently with potential for more
Hit: RHH. Very high hand setup gets into hinge holding it through the forward move as hands pull to shoulder. Stays in backside well allowing the body to rotate when needed. Barrel sticks with his body as he rotates finishing upwards loose and free. Worked gap-to-gap with easy carry and found the barrel well. 90.79 Avg Exit Velo, 72.7% Hard Hit, 23.1 gs Max Rotational Acceleration, 72 Max Bat Speed, 22.3 Max Handspeed, 70% On Pane Efficiency
Power: 97.20 mph exit velocity.
Arm: RH. C - 81.00 mph. Arm strength present and was able to get to the ear and release it quickly. Accurate throws help enable infielders to make a play.
Defense: 1.99-2.05 pop times. Good footwork towards second base and the agility shows up in block/recovering. Received well and has the athleticism to be strong behind the plate. Handled top velo arms well.
Run: 6.80 runner in the 60.
