Positional Profile: SS/2B
Body: 5-8, 155-pounds. Compact athletic build.
Hit: SH. LHH - Wide feet, square stance, off plate, reverse stride getting him over back side before getting to longer stride, small hand load to higher slot. RHH - Medium width feet, tall set, quiet hands, small load, minimal stride. Shoots ball to all fields on LH side, handsy/wristy stroke w/contact oriented approach. Gap gap RH stroke with ability to line ball to and through gaps; 16.8 max rotational acceleration (14.6 avg), 63% on plane efficiency, 53.3% LDs.
Power: 90 mph exit velocity in live BP via TrackMan. 70.5 max bat speed (63.23 avg), numbers combined both LHH & RHH side.
Arm: RH. INF - 81 mph. 3/4 release, sling type arm action which suits him well when on the move, fair carry with a bit of tailing action, accurate arm.
Defense: Confident and sure hands, quick feet, displayed ability to speed up release when need be.
Bay Area World Series 2020 (BAWS) - Uncommitted; Older brother is a frosh at Northwestern U; Hit-getting switch-hitter, showed ability to slash the ball to LF from LH side of plate, while staying in the middle from RH side w/some XBH ability. Energetic gritty style of play, capable of playing SS though raw arm/range project best for 2B.
vs Valley Christian - Uncommitted; Has a chance to be a contributing player this season, at 2nd base (competing with a junior for that spot). He's a compactly build 5-foot-6 150-pounds (on DLS roster), with noticeable forearm strength. He's more quick than fast but got around the bases well when a sinking liner to left field eluded the outfielder and he ended up at 3rd base. The swing is pretty short though the two high fly balls toward the short porch in RF were somewhat of a concern, as power is probably not what he needs to be trying to access at this point in his devleopment. While at SS later in the scrimmage he went to the backhand well but the arm showed to be more suitable at 2nd base.
