LHH - Wide feet, off plate, pinched knees in slight crouch, weight shift over backside, minimal stride, barrel over shoulder, small quiet load, flat & occasionally steep plane, line drive approach; RHH - Very similar set up, feet a bit wider then taking slightly more stride, bat starts and fires from same position while having same small quiet hand load. More physical on RH side, more aggressive attack angle. 18.8 max rotational acceleration (15.26 avg), 87% on plane efficiency.

Summer Scouting - Oregon State Commit. Top SS in Northern California showed more of his plus defense and bat-to-ball skills during his game today. Medium frame with first step athletic ability and twitchy attributes. Started the game with a bang on a 1st pitch FB driving it off the top of the fence in LF before diving into second for the double. Excellent bat speed from the compact swing as he hits behind the baseball driving over a firm front leg. Had two AB’s where he squared up the baseball, one for a hard 5-3 (4.3 H-1st), and another that was right at the SS for an L6. Patience and zone knowledge were also present as he picked up two walks and fouled off many good pitches to extend AB’s. The twitchy actions show up at SS where he shows plus range and very quick bounce in his step able to move any way and make the plays; showed baseball instincts with runner trying to advance in front of him and throwing a strike. The arm has the strength to make all the throws and he knows when to give a good hop for his first baseman. High Floor/Higher Ceiling type of player.

Fresno Easter Classic 4/15 - 4/16/2019 - Oregon State Commit. Lean wiry muscles with quick twitchy actions; very projectable frame that will stick in MIF. Compact stroke with middle of the field focus; started offense in 1st with a missile up the middle and then lined at 2nd baseman during 2nd AB showing above-average speed down the line (4.32 H-1st). Can stick in the middle of the diamond with strong arm; made a couple mistakes on routine balls slowing his feet instead of moving through the ball. Chance to make major jumps this off-season. / 2nd viewing; Shows plenty of tools for a freshman both defensively and at the plate. He understands the strike zone and shows discipline at the plate. Hands were quick through the zone although there were hints of a lagging barrel, could be due to his developing body and strength. Squared up two balls in the viewing and showed to be a very good baserunner. Had a scare when he dove headfirst into second base and appeared to jam his shoulder. He got up after a bit and appeared okay. Defensively his actions are clean with good lateral movement to both sides and fair range.

2/18/19

Preseason Scrimmages (2) - Oregon State commit. younger brother of Garrett Forrester (2020). He's built a little differently, a bit smaller framed though athletically put together and more on the quick side than his brother. Though given that he's a freshman, he's a ways away from his physical peak yet moves with good bounce. What stood out during his plate appearances was his aggressiveness, confidence, and consistent approach to look away and shoot the ball to to right field. This is a young player who SEES the ball very well. On three occasions he lashed the ball hard to right, a couple of times the ball got down for hits. Those balls to right weren't flares as he gets good extension and finishes through contact. He's young but the bat speed already shows up. He also worked the small game and showed some burst on the bases. An energetic player, he's got defensive skills and tools to play either spot up the middle.
