3/14/19 - Uncommitted - 6-foot-1 180-pound frame, athletic, strong lower half build, room to develop upper body strength. Great defensive fundamentals, fields out in front, gets low with his legs, ability to react to bad hops, played ss with good range, easy transition to 3rd base at the next level. Traditional infielder throwing motion, quick arm swing and above average arm strength and accuracy. Offensively, balanced throughout swing, good bat path, front foot needs to be on time and physical strength will improve power at the plate.
11/10/18 - California Sr. Games. Six-foot-3, 190 pounds. We have now had multiple viewings of Brian. Bat always stands out. Big strong kid that is a future first base. Big power is the bat, coming from legs. The sooner he can get reps at first base the better he will get quicker. He moves well for his size and with a background in the INF, it should be a smooth transition.
7/17/18-7/19/18 @ NCTB Upperclass Tourney - Multiple reports from two different scouts at tourney: Showed one of the quickest bats of the day, used his lower half extremely well, displayed middle gap to gap approach and drove the ball to opposite gap with present power, projectable defensive tools and a strong arm on defense, talented player with pretty significant ceiling and tools that can and should continue to develop and emerge. /// Tall and lanky, strong arm, solid to above average range, can make all throws needed at 3B, made the routine plays routinely, possesses good bat speed and bat speed, quality at-bats vs some of the better pitching at the tourney. Good pop presently and a body type to keep adding size and strength. Stays short with a compact swing. Looks to be a candidate to be an early commit this fall.
6/1/18-6/3/18 @ BAWS 2018 - Long and strong body on well-porportioned 6-foot-2 185-pound frame. One of better performers at BAWS 2018 and looks like a 2019 3rd baseman to follow in the region. Balanced stance with flat bat through load; balanced swing as hands stay tight to body with consistent loud contact in bat; 93 Exit Velocity on ball back through the middle. Above average gap power with quickness in wrists/hands; drove ball over left fielders head in game and just missed another on a ball hit at the left fielder. Strong ability to recognize pitches while keeping hands back in load. Above average arm from shortstop with life across the diamond; bouts where ball would take off but showed ability to make special plays during games. Average runner showing better at full speed and longer gait underway; 4.56 H-1st.
