1/19/19 - Uncommitted. Six-foot-1, 170. Medium/large frame with strength in the shoulders and down into the wrists. Athletic movements in the outfield and a very instinctive baserunner. Gets excellent reads off the bat both on defense and on the basepaths. Shows a thorough understanding of the strike zone at the plate where he battles to fight off pitches and extend at-bats. Abel is presently more of a contact hitter as he sprays balls to all fields. However, he is capable of putting a charge into the ball. Power figures to continue to come as he fills out physically. There's strength in the arm which could profile best in the outfield where his instincts and speed could play up.
