Body: Lean body at 5’11”, will get stronger and fill out. A 2023 grad, still young and uses his body well in all facets of the game.
Hit: With a wide base to start, and his hands ready to hit, NvZaiah attacks the ball from he inside well. A tough out on the game and had a couple line outs. Really focuses on solid contact everytime. All motions are quick, from small leg lift to hips activation and quick hands.
Power: Power is pretty evenly distributed, will use all fields to hit. Shows some gap power, pushing outfielders back on balls.
Arm: Uses his long limbs to produce a long, but quick arm. It is an over the top delivery, that he is able to extend through the ball. Good carry on all his throws with a 81 mph
Defense: With a low set up, reacts well to the ball hit. Gets to ball in a controlled manner for his last step to explode through. Good transition of glove to hand.
Run: Once again showing off some athleticism with setup up, low to the ground and stays there through the first 20 yards. Arms and legs in motion together, runs a 7.28
Body: 5-foot-10, 145-pounds. Lean/lithe body, graceful proportions, positive physical projectability
Hit: RHH. Balanced set-up, slight knee crouch with hands held off his right shoulder, minimal stride, small circular hand action as stride happens, swing looks to be tailed to a contact oriented approach, short to the ball, does have some good hip rotation and explosion, as he gets stronger there are mechanics to develop some gap pop and ability to make consistently hard contact. Can work to keep the eyes/head a bit more steady.
Power: 75 mph EV off tee
Arm: OF velo - 79 mph (R) - Quick arm and there is more velo coming as he gets more physical, quick arm stroke and there is some developing carry
Defense: Excellent set-up/approach to both ground balls and balls in the air, graceful confident actions, sees ball off the bat well, angles are good, there are occasionally some extra steps as he attempted to unleash best velo type throws so getting to that best velo more efficiently is an area of improvement for him, as well as working to increase his footspeed.
Run: 7.69 60-yard
PBR CA STATE GAMES - Small, athletic frame with quick actions and space for more growth. Compact flat barrel from balanced stance showing good barrel awareness from direct hands. Battled and took tough pitches showing strong AB’s; worked a walk and was right on some pitches hitting the ball hard at infielders. Stolen base shows more athletic ability is available getting feet moving underway (4.82 H-1st). Athletic action shows in OF with good range moving laterally well while also being able to close on the ball; loose arm with budding strength fits multiple positions.
