Body: 5-11, 185 lbs. Decent size, average athleticism. Room to add some strength.
Hit: Upright with relaxed hands in stance. Hands pull back into a high elbow in load. Simple and small forward stride. Shoulders get steep where the hands follow for a more steep-level path. Compact and connected throughout the swing and balanced at finish. Average bat speed. Pounded middle of the field during BP. Nice oppo feel that showed during game action. Had 2 hits in game 1 and game 2. Game 1 he barreled up on FB for an LD single to right and stayed back on a slider and pounded it down the left-field line for a single. Game 2 featured an LD single to right, where he just threw the barrel at it. Then barreled up on an RC triple that made it to the wall.
Power: 98mph max exit velo. 321ft max distance. Current gap to gap power with some flash of some power to the wall.
Defense: Showed good defensive fundamentals. Sure glove where he fields low and out in front. Average feet. Decent lateral range. Above-average arm strength for his level. â…— accurate throws during the defensive workout. Whippy short arm action. Made a nice defensive play in game action at 2B where he ranged into the 3-4 hole to get a GB and got the runner at 1st.
Run: 6.77 laser timed 60.
Body: 6-foot, 185-pound solid frame.
Hit: (RHH) Started in a balanced stance with a compact load, then used a controlled stride. Average bat speed. High finish, rotational swing. Up the middle approach.
Power: 95 mph exit velocity.
Defense: (IF) Sure hands, consistent footwork, clean exchange. Capable. (OF) Consistent hands, rhythmic footwork, natural exchange. Above average. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were average.
Arm: 83 mph infield velocity. 86 mph outfield velocity. Very quick arm action, high ¾ slot, consistent accuracy.
Speed: 6.77 (60-yard).
Bay Area World Series 2020 (BAWS) - Uncommitted; Barreled the ball all weekend w/pop to and through the gaps. Stronger than his modest body type suggests, simple/clean mechanics, outstanding timing. UTL defense profile to one of the corners, arm can play near avg at multiple spots.
PBR Far North Preseason ID - UNCOMMITTED; Surprisingly physical hitter in BP round, given his 5-foot-10, 170-pound body type. Made repetitive LOUD contact during the round, lashing line drives to all fields, while showing the ability to backspin the ball in the opposite field (RCF) gap, created by a flat and occasionally somewhat steep swing plane. Plenty of bat speed and an aggressive nature. Defensively showed a strong arm that was consistent from both the OF and 3B. Not a burner but at 7.25 he has enough quickness to man either corner OF spot or 3rd base. Given what looks to be playable hitting ability, his positional versatility is certainly a plus attribute.
