University of Puget Sound commit; Game vs Branson School, just might play as a two-way player in college. He's a big, physical, broad, large young person at 6-foot-4, 225-pounds. He doesn't have big time bat speed but displayed very good timing to the fastball and squared up multiple balls, though they were all hit at the SS. Controlling his barrel a bit more (with some better bottom hand path) will allow him to drive the ball to the middle of the yard where his power would play as above average. On the mound he came into a tight game and shut down the opposing team. Overhand slot, long arm action, solid delivery though can fly the front shoulder and pull the fastball at times. Fastball was up to 87 a few times and steady 84-86 mph. Curveball with some two-plane action and smooth continual break at 72-74 mph. Doesn't create much deception, but perhaps staying closed longer will not only help the stuff improve but also delay the hitter's look at the ball.
6/03/18
BAWS 6/1/18-6/3/18 - Physical body type, definitely possesses present day strength on his 6-foot-4 225-pounds frame. Balanced stance with high back elbow and very quiet load. Showed very quick bat with loud contact during batting practice and ability to drive the ball into the pullside gap. Above average arm even at 1st base with consistent life and carry on throws across diamond. Moves well for his size and frame and showed some aggressiveness on the base paths; 4.62 H-1st. Strong arm on mound, overhand slot, struggled with command due to overpowering the ball and some difficulties with front side direction but the arm is good and possesses plenty of arm speed, was up to 85 mph with fastball and with mechanical adjustments there is more in there.
