9/2016 - Made USA 18U National Team.

8/9/16 - Danner has been known for his prowess on the mound, but his ability on offense seems to be catching up. He is typically listed as a catcher on rosters, but usually only works out back there and doesn’t see a lot of game action. In the spring, he caught only a handful of games for Huntington Beach. He didn’t look out of place while catching Greene and we all know he has the physicality and arm strength that it takes to play the position. He was 0-for-1 on Sunday, squaring up a flyout to center field that had an exit velocity of 96.

6/24/16 - Played first base on Thursday, after pitching Wednesday, and went 1-for-4 with an RBI. He hammered a hanging curveball for a triple off the wall in left field.

6/23/16 - Pitched the last two innings for United, allowing two hits and two walks while striking out two. His fastball started out 92-93 and was 90-91 in the second. It has good down angle on it out of a high-3/4 slot. He has a long arm action and was inconsistent with his curveball, but it flashed nearly 12/6 shape and hard break at 78-80. He also mixed in a changeup at 80-84.

6/22/16 - Has easy power, generated by a quick bat and good extension. He ripped off a couple 1.94s behind the plate and had good carry to his throws.

8/6/15 - Known more for his exploits on the mound, but he’s a good athlete and can handle the bat too. Though he tends to get stiff with his lower half, he takes a good, easy swing from the right side.

3/27/15 - Day’s top highlight came from Huntington Beach RHP/UT Hagen Danner, a sophomore and UCLA recruit. Danner gave up a leadoff triple, but struck out the next five batters and found a groove. He started out sitting 90-92 and held it for four innings before dipping into the high 80s, but still finding 90-91 when he needed it. Danner pounded the zone with 71 of his 106 pitches going for strikes and put hitters away with a nasty curveball and solid changeup. His curveball had sharp, downward break and depth at 77-79. He stands at 6-foot-2, 185 pounds with plenty of room to add strength down the road. He allowed just three hits and walked two in the complete game effort as Huntington Beach advanced with a 6-0 win.
