VS CSM FALL BALL

Driggs continues to bring strong catch and throw skills, and the projectable young frame has space to keep shaping as he matures. Behind the plate Driggs is an above-average receiver showing a strong glove hand and consistently accurate arm. He caught a runner during the game with a great throw keeping it on the bag in a spot for a quick tag. In two viewings this fall I’ve seen Driggs regularly in a strong blocking position and working well with different pitchers during the outings. At the plate, the low hands produce a late, heavy barrel that when on time allow the ball to jump off the bat; picked up a clean single to RF. Flashed some harder contact during BP and if his bat can make some jumps Driggs should have a solid 2020 season.

FALL BALL - Full medium frame with thicker strength in the lower half; quick feet and athletic actions behind the dish. Catching tools are present with space for bat to make some jumps. At the plate works with low hands and open stance staying behind the baseball with shorter stride. Barrel has some length flashing the ability to adjust his hands to pitches on either side of the plate. Catching skills were really solid making plays with his blocking and utilizing his arm catching a runner at 2nd base (2.09 Pop, 1.96-2.10 inbetween). The feet were quick and athletic allowing for the quick release to play up the arm strength and accuracy to keep it on the bag. Behind the dish he showed flexibility and worked hard absorbing pitches and keeping the ball close to him.

Fresno Easter Classic - All around toolset for Catcher position; strong soft receiving hands display well above average if not exceptional blocking ability all day long. 1.97-2.1 Pop times between innings with fair arm strength and quick feet. Accurate to bag. Balanced offensively with strong hands and a heavy barrel; can mishit a ball and still drive it the other way having ball leaves the bat well.
