At San Benito: Caught my eye during pre-game and then hit in the 4 hole behind their big Junior hitters showing the confidence the coaching staff has in him. The frame is long and showing current lean strength throughout but moves easily in CF and also out of the box (4.59 H-1st). Defensively he’s got promise but will have to continue to develop his tracking skills as some of the routes ended up too sharp having balls carry by him; the arm has strength and showed easy carry on throws during pre-game. Three very strong AB’s including a walk, deep F7 on a 3-1 FB and jammed 5-3 that saw him battle and extend the AB to 9 pitches. On the bases he was very aggressive taking big leads and regularly looking to run (stole 2nd). At the plate it's an open stance with high hands and flared elbows with a slight squat; the rocking load allows for strong body turns allowing the bat to rotate around the back arm. The easy lift he produces suggests more power as he continues to mature and with his frame could be a summer/winter away from even bigger leaps.
