7/18/19

Fall upperclass tourney - Showed good feet and hands on defense, projects well as second baseman or possible centerfielder, offensive skills type hitter bat stayed in the zone for a long time, above average bat speed with ability to repeatedly but the barrel on the ball, very athletic set-up in the box had great discipline and pitch selection, igniter, Ray Durham type on left side.

1/27/19

PBR N CA Preseason All-State - Full, small frame with sloping shoulders and high waist; strong and athletic throughout and moves very quickly with loose hips (6.75 60-yd). Multi-sport athlete who shows off athletic skill in all parts of his game. Tall, quiet stance with hands even and vertical bat; controlled front knee lift as hands show slight downward movement. Quick and controlled with the ability to have strong weight transfer through the baseball; uses his lower half well with swing having quick arc through the zone as he peppered the pullside and middle of the field (86 exit velo). Quick, controlled feet with ability to create strong angles in middle of diamond; soft hands with ability to pick it in infield. Low slot arm with longer swing keeps it online to the bags (72 MPH). Athlete who could make big jumps if focusing solely on baseball. One of top uncommitted 2019 players.

6/03/18

BAWS 2018 - Compactly built 5-foot-9 160-pound middle infielder with some twitch and strength. Narrow stance with hand movement in his load. Strong ability to stay back and hit behind the baseball with a pull side approach. Line drives have carry to all parts of the field. Range up the middle and showed ability to make plays past bag up middle; fair arm that plays better at 2B. Fluid runner out of box with strong stride length; 4.38-4.4 H-1st

2/4/2020 @ Cabrillo:Forbes has been on my radar for the last couple years and the plus-speed middle infielder showed his tools in this one as well. The compact frame has added strength since last viewing without taking away from the athleticism and ability to make plays at 2nd base. During the game he showed his soft hands making quick turns on a double play and ability to go get the ball into the OF. At the plate the balanced and simple swing shows strong bat speed and the ability to spray the ball all around the field with a high-contact type of approach. During the game he put together quality AB’s including falling behind in the 1st inning before battling back and drawing a walk; he also picked up a clean single to RF in the 4th to drive in a run. His athleticism allows him to easily cruise 1st-3rd and be a regular threat to run on the basepaths. There’s lots of upside for Forbes for the next level.
