Bay Area World Series 2022 - Uncommitted; Compact build with strength, two-way player at BAWS, pitchability on the mound is a strength, strike-thrower with multiple pitches, clean compact arm action, repeatable delivery, FB peaked at 83 mph at BAWS w/max spin of 2323, flashed plus horizontal movement, able to force contact, mixes in CB and SL, CB up to 2447 max spin which brought about 36 spin score, occasionally sharp bite, SL even tighter w/2604 max spin and a bit smaller lateral break than his two-plane CB, has feel for both, uses CHG down in the zone w/ample arm side movement, fun to watch him mix and compete and challenge hitters; as position player shows good INF arm at 81 mph from SS, does have sneakly pull-side pop, fair runner and ultimately the overall position tools likely lead him to pitching beyond the HS level, good fielder, sure hands, capable playmaker.
Positional Profile: SS
Body: 5-8, 170-pounds. Compact build with athletic proportions on smaller frame.
Hit: LHH. Deep in box, very slightly open, wider feet, slight crouch, hitterish presence, smooth small lift out to medium length stride, back elbow starts parallel to ground, medium depth load. Strides in-line, works hands inside, generally flat with slight upward move through contact, has barrel control, can spray with a little pop to all fields, full two hand finish with barrel wrapping behind back.
Power: 91 max exit velocity, 72.6 max bat speed, 22.3 max hand speed.
Arm: RH. SS - 81 mph. Short quick arm action, accurate, can create carry, throws track with very slight tailing action.
Defense: Plays below the ball, soft hands with trapping mechanic at reception, moved well both left and right with fair range potential, sure handed fielder with sound fundamentals and body control.
Run: 7.57 runner in the 60.
Positional Profile: RHP
Delivery: Windup: Starts a bit open, he rocks his glove down and front foot steps back into a double tap. From there he moves quickly into a high leg kick with the glove and ball out over his thigh. Once again quickly starts downhill with glove-side attacking the zone and gets the ball up high behind his head. From there everything is downhill and fast. His front leg extension after release is good as he gets his chest over his front foot.
Arm Action: RH. Low separation into a tight circular arm swing. He does well to get the ball high with his hand still in good position as he starts his downhill movement and rotation. The ball often looks like it shoots out from right next to his ear.
FB: T82, 80-82 mph. Consistent numbers on trackman and high spin count for his FB. Showed trust when ahead in the count that he will locate inside and challenge the hitter at the top of the zone.
SL: 67-70 mph. Command early in the count and flashed some versatility with this pitch throwing it aggressively in different counts. Seems comfortable enough to also challenge inside to a RHH (spin rate maxed out at 2630 at this event, averaged 2335, and earlier this year touched 2800+).
CH: 68-71 mph. Displayed command of his changeup often starting it over the heart of the plate and allowing it to run down and in to a righty’s back foot.
Body: WIth a compact, strong, athletic build. 5’8”, 170 pounds
Hit: With a balanced stance, knees inside feet and hands in a good position to hit. Very good feel for the bat and drives the ball up the middle. Quick to the ball, stays inside it well.
Power: 90.27 max exit speed
Arm: Strong arm, and accurate. 82 mph infield velo. Uses different arm angles for delivery to first and second
Defense: One step hop to start approach to the ball, sees bounces well, and attacks on the right hop. Funnels to center, with easy transition for quick release.
Run: 7.35 second 60 yard dash
Delivery: RHP, Jackson’s delivery is best described as aggressively controlled. WIth a quick side step to leg kick, his quick movements gets him in his legs early to generate power. With a quick hand break, the arm is up in a position to move downhill. Over the top delivery, Jackson is able to get on top of each pitch. Jackson stays in control throughout
FB: Fastball maxing out at 82 mph. Challenges inside with FB and works other pitches off of it.
SL: With some occasional late depth, the SL had late break and had deceptions of fastball at release. 68-70 mph
CH: Jordan’s better off speed pitch, will be a great pitch to come off of FB. WIth late dive and deception, the quick arm action helps this pitch. 70-72 mph
Positional Profile: SS/P
Body: 5-8, 170-pounds. Compact build, has present strength.
Hit: LHH. Deep in box, slightly open, hands above shoulder, slight crouch with back knee pinch, higher back elbow. Rhythmic load, controls hands into launch position, creates barrel life to and through ball, full two hand finish, drives hips well, longer stride, chance to be a powerful stroke.
Power: 89 max exit velocity
Arm: RH. INF - 79 mph. Quick release, strong arm, compact arm action two high-3/4 release, gets carry on throws.
Defense: Efficient feet, clean angles, strong legs support the strong arm, soft hands, confident actions.
Run: 7.45 runner in the 60.
Positional Profile: RHP
Delivery: Starts high hands, rhythmic hand pump to separation, slightly open stride, clean compact on backside, 3/4 release, achieves extension, uses powerful lower body well.
Arm Action: RH. Repeats and able to manipulate ball for his various offerings, quick arm stroke, there are future velocity gains coming and ability to feel multiple pitches is a strong positive.
FB: T82, 80-81 mph. Tight spin, projects for steady and pretty steep velo gains as he matures, holds plane, can vary movement from straight to creating lateral action, pounds zone, lower slot allows the FB to project well up in the zone.
CB: 67-69 mph. Above average spin bordering on near plus for his age, big two plane break and has present day feel, can start in zone and get chases just out of zone.
