9/26/20

Positional Profile: 1B
Body: 6-3, 180-pounds. Tall, wiry with sizeable frame for future strength/size gains.
Hit: RHH. Slightly open start with a compact base and leg kick timing mechanism.
Power: 88 mph exit velocity from the tee. Topped 88 MPH Exit Velo via Trackman in BP. More power will come with added mass.
Arm: RH. INF - 78 mph. Long arm action that produced 78MPH across the diamond during defensive workout.
Defense: Showcased quality foot and glove work at 1B turning both DP's and going to 3rd.
Run: 7.89 runner in the 60.

7/23/20

Positional Profile: 1B
Body: 6-foot-3, 180-pounds. Lanky with sizeable frame for future strength/size gains.
Defense: Soft hands, knees a bit outside of feet in setup, worked back to bag well on 3-6-3, methodical footwork.
Arm: RH. 1B - 77 mph. Loose long arm action, gets to full extension on backside, throws were handle-able for MIFs at 2B.
Hit: RHH. Tall setup, feet even w/shoulders, slight knee pinch, rhythmic load w/small knee lift toward stride, relaxed arms, stays connected, gets knob pointed to catcher, some lead arm barring.  Powerful finish, barrel contact improved through the round, drove ball deep to pull-side, calm head, hands work through contact, w/strength gains there is a swing that can produce damage.
Power: 87 mph exit velocity in cage front toss session.
Run: 7.68 runner in the 60.

6/26/19

PBR Bay Area Open - Pitching: Long and lanky, still growing into his 6-foot-3, 170-pound frame. Overhand slot, quick tempo delivery, there is some arm speed there for future velocity projection well beyond what was observed on this day. The delivery can tighten up and within delivery adjustments there will be velocity gains. Stride leg lands fairly on-line though with heel strike and open foot, causing significant spinning off toward 1st base line. He loses energy by not staying behind the ball. Stride is fairly short given his long legs. With leg/core strength gains he could extend the stride, land more firm in a balanced position and stay on-line better, which would very likely immediately spike his velocity. Showed feel of the zone and created some fastball angle. Curveball (58-61 mph) feel was also present and as with the fastball (72-75 mph), the sharpness and spin can improve with mechanical adjustments.

6/26/19

Bay Area Open - INF: XL frame, high waist, long and very lean with plenty of space to take on strength. Moves well in short spaces with growing control of the long build. Tall stance having hands bouncing off the back shoulder for timing before pulling back with quick foot lift pushing weight into back hip; pre-pitch movement helps him stay behind the baseball and giving space for the barrel to get through the zone. Swing is compact and flat working on plane with quick two-handed finish; ball was jumping off to the gaps with more power to the pull side gap when working with leverage (82 MPH). Moved well at first using his length to snatch balls off the dirt with active feet; showed ability to cross-over and go grab ball in the hole. Glove was soft at first on throws across flashing the ability to stay below the ball; used length to stretch out for the baseball presenting a good target. Long arm with long release showing strength in the arm (73 MPH).
