vs Monte Vista HS; University of Pacific commit,  was an interesting player to watch for me. He is built well and you can tell has some present strength, but the arm was not what you’d expect.  I had him anywhere from a 2.13-2.2 between innings, and his throws did not have much carry. That looks to be one part of his game that he will need to continue to work on. He does have good feet and he did work hard behind the plate for his pitcher which you love to see from a catcher.  At the plate he has a slightly open stance, and the timing of his load seems to be off. Looks like his load is rushed which could cause him to be late and a bit pull happy where his bat is in and out of the zone. He did make a great adjustment on an off speed pitch for a base hit and he does have quick hands and shows some bat speed.

vs Jesuit - Pacific signee; Athletic catcher who looks capable of playing multiple positions. He was on base quite a bit in this one, reaching on a couple of errors, getting hit once and singling up the middle to drive in a run. He is put together well with compact athletic proportions at 5-foot-10 185-pounds. Offensively he starts with a high back elbow and there is some hitch to the start of his swing (see video) and that causes some length to the start of the swing and forces him to get around pitches. He pulled the the ball three times on the ground to the left side of the the 2nd base bag (E6, single just to left of SS, E5). Defensively he looked comfortable behind the plate with good agility. The arm is fair (73 mph on pop throw) and I'd assume he's capable of better than the 2.15-2.18 warm-up throws. He broke down/blocked well and was on time to do so. As for receiving, he improved as the game went along and catching Harrison can be a challenge, particular when he rips a fastball to the catcher's glove side when maybe that wasn't the intended location. Would like to see him again to gain a better feel for his overall game
