PBR N CA Underclasss Games - 6-foot-0, 195-pounds, thicker body type with some upper body strength, particularly through his shoulders and upper back. Strong lower body and pitches with good balance. Overhand slot, calm backside arm action with minimal arm swing, hooks/curls wrist a bit. Good direction to the plate and lands with good balance while maintaining that balance through release as he gets to a firm/flexed front side. Finishes pitches well with his backside allowing more life on pitches than his velocity might otherwise indicate. Fastball at times had good riding action and that sneaky velocity as hitters had trouble with the fastball. Struck out 5 of the 7 batters he faced and it was primarily against his fastball. Good usage of his curveball and good finish of that pitch. Not a big biting curveball but steady action that gets deep enough into the zone to keep hitters off it. Understands how to pitch and with three usable pitches (has mid-70s change-up) and some bulldog in him.

BAWS 2019 - Wide shoulder with some rolled strength in shoulders; full frame has athletic qualities. Hands stay at waist with high front knee; has glove elbow get high adding some deception. Hips are flexible and fluid showing the ability to stay in the backside; able to get high front knee but still control it to open as he works down the hill. Compact arm with wrist wrap in slight pause behind back; quick through 3/4 release. FB 81-83 T84 showing run to the arm side and able to backdoor on hitters as well. CHG 72-74 with bottom to the arm side and idea of how to utilize pitch; feel with ability to repeat and move to both sides of the plate. Strong pitch. CB 68-70 short depth arm side with tight spin. SLD 73-74 with short cut occurring off the plate. Liked his ability to attack hitters and use multiple pitches for strikes; 6 K’s over 3IP.
3/26/19
Uncommitted as of this report; pitched in relief vs Capital Christian HS; came on and was in the 83-84 mph range with T85, liberal use of a quality overhand curveball and clearly the pitch he trusts the most. Has a hook/curl on backside of arm action, velocity and life was a bit better than we'd seen previously. Works with good tempo and can throw more strikes than he did, seemed to not trust the fastball enough and was nibbling a bit too much which ended up in some walks and then some subsequent damage. Showed ability to use curveball in just about any count but not enough FB strikes to get swings at good curveballs. Quick tempo did contribute to two outstanding defensive plays by teammates and more of that would come his way with less nibbling with the fastball.

PBR N CA Preseason All-State - Physical description consistent with previous viewings, 6-foot-0 195-pounds with some strength throughout lower body, does still retain room for upper body to fill out, composed demeanor, calm smooth delivery, easy lift, shallow backside arm action with hook of wrist at full extension, on-line stride and maintains stability with lower body, deliberate movement toward landing, arm gets to overhand slot, displays good control of all three pitches, fastball (T81) will have more velocity as season goes along, occasional angle on that pitch, doesn't force anything, curveball (67-70 mph) with 12/5 shape and smooth continuous break, has feel of the zone with it, change-up (73-75 mph) was best pitch as he displayed both feel and good movement (turns it over), change-up should elicit quite a bit of soft contact.

BAWS 2018 - Lean and well-put together 6-foot-0 175-pound with some present strength and favorable physical projection. Simple delivery showing rocking load into back hip on top of mound with high front knees; high-3/4 release with hand bend behind back before going down the hill. Showed plus tempo on the mound working quickly and pounding the zone. Fastball 82-84 mph with cut to glove side and showing excellent angle; flashed the ability to bring 2-seam back over plate backdoor and regularly put past hitters for swing/miss. Curveball 68-70 mph with 12/6-shape with deep 2-level depth; feel for pitch and ability to dial up spin as needed. Change-up 76-77 mph, with sink down through zone. Multiple times where fastball jumped on hitters.
