2/15/19: Standing 6-foot-3, 205 pounds, Waldichuk has a flat, wide body. Appears like he could have been heavy and lost bad weight. Velo supposedly up to 94 at some point last fall, was 86-92 mph with a comfort zone of 89-90 on this look. Effort, grunted often on pitches. Tried to throw two breaking balls. Slider/Cutter early at 79-80 mph, settled in with 74-76 mph curveball which was average with flashes of solid average. Showed feel for back-dooring the breaking ball to RHHs but not much back foot. Curveball just stayed on his armside even to LHHs except for get me over. Changeup (79-81 mph) has a chance, was solid with flashes of better. Threw strikes with more control than command. Reminded me of Mark Repsczyenski. (Gouldsmith)

10/24/18No. 150 on PBR Top College 150, the lefty is working back to full speed after having a fantastic summer in the Cape and I was lucky to get access to a bullpen prior to the game. Large frame with length in his arms and a high waist. Mature, lean muscle showing strength in his legs; athletic build that allows him to repeat his delivery well. Hands start up by the chin and drop down to waist early, prior to high front knee; hands lift with the front knee while body keeps strong posture before dropping into lower half and driving down the hill with extension and finishing over a stiff-front leg. Late-quick arm get to from compact circle cleanly and creates deception staying hidden behind the back leg; ball is hard to pick up behind the moving pieces and jumps on the hitter adding to all pitches. Fastball showed average with small arm-side run when getting angled to that side and life up through the top part of the zone. During the bullpen he moved the FB around, able to get to both sides of the plate and up/down. Changeup flashed above-average working off the fastball path and showing late bottom; pitch looked FB until late in its travels. Flashed some feel for the pitch being able to make adjustments and throwing in and out of the zone. The slider flashed above-average as well with tight spin and showing late, lateral bite and tilt on the angle; when getting tilt on the pitch it showed short depth looking like a strike and breaking out of the zone. Curveball was fringe-average, but flashed more as he’s working to add the pitch back into his arsenal. Flashed tight spin on the pitch with 1-to-5 rotation and short depth at the plate; pitch has times where it humps early and if that can be eliminated would add to impressive arsenal. Showed average control of all pitches with flashes of similar command. It was only a bullpen, but showed competitive fire going back to pitches after missing locations or not liking the shape and working to correct before moving on. (Ozella)
